Acetic acid for alimentary purposes

Е260 food additive is known to everybody as acetic acid or vinegar. It is used in food industry as an acidity regulator. Е260 additive has a specific acrid smell. Acetic acid is a colorless caustic liquid absorbing water from the environment and freezing at temperature of 16.5°C with formation of solid colorless crystals. The chemical formula of the acetic acid is CH₃COOH.
